Fashion Wellies 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I think that Hunters have really become a fashion statement, for either guys or gals. I see them regularly on my way to work, and that can be gals in skirts or jeans. I have also noticed an increased number of guys wearing them, and it colour doesn't seem to be an issue? Has anyone else noticed this?

Hi

Not noticed many guys in coloured hunters round my way. I think a lot of folks wear green blue or black outdoors (guys) but not so much colours. I have all these colours plus powder blue and yellow which to date have not be worn outside yet.

Another factor is that it's impossible to get coloured hunters if you are above a size 8. I'm 11 and would buy more if they fitted me!!

I just ordered the silver and lilac wellies. I've also got a few colours, I like the red and the lime ones best. I wear mine all the time, they are so comfortable. I actually bought my husband a pair of the lime ones too, so we can go out as a matched set.

would love the silver ones!! Or the Dolphin grey!!! Blast my big feet!!! lol

Where do you and your husband wear them together? Hunters don't agree with my wife to be frank but she wears other wellies when we're out and about!!

I haven't plucked up the courage to wear yellow in public...yet!!

We wear our wellies where ever we fancy. I suppose it is a bit easier for him with me wearing them as well. We wear them to the park, and have even gone out to dinner in them - there was a snowstorm. Go ahead and wear your yellow ones out, as my husband has actually had a fair number of comments about his. He isn't hesitant about wearing them at all.

Excellant well done to him!! What sort of comments did he get?

I have wore my green ones to a meeting with my bank manager once!! that was fun!! She didn't mind at all.

I'll have to pluck up the courage with the yellow wellies - they would look great in mud don't you think?!?!

He got positive comments. It did his ego good, one day he wore his yellow ones to the bank and a young woman told him he looked "stunning" and wanted to know where she could buy some. He wore my red ones once and a couple of jock types said how good he looked.
Personally, I like the shiny clean look, especially if the weather is not nice out. I like to stand out in a crowd, hence my collection of colours, I have most of the Hunter collection.
Today is a good day to wear your yellow ones!!!

I think some colours are aimed at women like pink and powder blue but dont see to much problem with red or yellow. red looks quit military and yellow is associated with sailing I have worn both colours out and they do look good in the mud

I am just heading out in my pumpkin wellies. I don't think that the colour matters, or is gender specific. I have powder blue ones and I'd wear pink - guys wear pink Crocs. Shiny looks very sharp.

During my trips to the countryside, is the only time i have seen ladies in hunter boots, usually green ones. I recently, had to buy a couple of pairs of hunters, to replace my old uniroyal green hunters, I really like the fuchsia wellies also the yellow ones too, but I lack the courage to wear them outdoors, especially at my age. So I opted for a pair of black and a pair of chocolate coloured hunters for outdoor pleasures, I have a pair of red hunters, but for indoor use only.

I haven't worn my fuschia ones out and about yet, but I have worn all the other colours. I think the colour doesn't really matter anymore, as everyone just seems to wear what they want. Hunters really set off whatever you wear, They look so sharp with trousers tucked in, without a baggy lump at the top of the wellies. They also look great on ladies wearing a skirt!

I'm not sure about coloured Hunters for men. I like camo wellies and have several pairs of Realtree and Mossy Oak camo wellies and they look great. Coloured Hunters are a bit Colin and Justin. I've got navy blue Trucker safety wellies, does that count?
