Another photo from the Blaenrhondda Waterfall Walk on 27th December, visited with a few flickr friends.
The trek to this waterfall has to be one of the most difficult flickr photoshoots I've been on! Six of us braved the wintry mountain-top wind and met at the appointed place and promptly at 8.00 we left the car park for the three and a half hour adventure. In attendance with me were Wiffsmiff23, Rob Funffinger, Colin Simper, Les (fotocall visions) and his daughter Clare over from Oz on a visit; an excellent morning in lovely company!
Taken with the Canon 5D and the 14mm L lens resting on an ice covered rock in lieu of a tripod which would have been much too tall. The sheen on the rocks is not water, but ice! It was treacherously slippery in places up there as most of the rocks were covered in sheets of ice. For once I wisely ensured the water stayed outside my wellies as the conditions were difficult enough without frozen wet feet as well!
